An amazing full coverage foundation for under £4!

Hey guys!

So the other day I was looking for a foundation that would work well and be an everyday foundation for a low price. I was in Wilko’s and ended up buying a foundation for £3.80! After using if for two days straight and one of those days going out for the night I decided I know enough about how well it works to tell you guys about it.

This is the product, the Essence Camouflage Make-up and concealer. First of all, obviously the price is absolutely amazing of this product as it is so cheap and you got 30ml which will probably last a good while. As it states on the bottle, this is a high coverage product which I really need at the moment due to my skin breaking out.

To show you in the best way possible I decided to take before and after pictures of my make-up. Firstly, with my Canon 500D camera so it is very high quality showing all my blemishes so please don’t judge!

Even though this isn’t very bright you can obviously see the dark circles and blemishes that I have on my face. This is the picture after applying one layer of this foundation just over moisturised skin.

img_7056

Excuse the fact I got a little bit on my lip but how amazing is this! As you can see from my forehead and under-eyes they are all concealed without any concealer other than this product. It isn’t patchy and I’d say this product is definitely build-able too.

This is the pictures from my phone just to show a less intense version. This is a before and after and a finished look from my phone…

Concerning length of time the product lasts I can say from wearing this product on a night out and attempting to wipe it off when I got back (obviously wasn’t sober). I didn’t manage to get all of it off so I took a make-up wipe the next morning and there was still product on my face! So it definitely is heavy duty even though it is only £3.80! I definitely would recommend this and just to let you guys know, my skin is combination skin and I’ve not found the product to go patchy at all during the day.

The shade I used is ivory and I mixed it literally with the tiniest drop of Rimmel match perfection in soft beige just to make it a tiny bit darker. Here’s the ratio i used just to show you how little it is and wouldn’t be effected by the consistency.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend this product to anyone just to try it because at the end of the day it is only £3.80!

Here’s the link to the foundation!

REVIEW: Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain!

Hi guys,

So I decided to do about this product which I have had mixed feelings about until I went to Stockholm. It is the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in the colour New York. It is a beautiful red which can be worn at any time in the year. 16735663_10208415441564056_1417119707_o

I used this first on Christmas day as my best friend gave it to me kindly as one of my presents. It was so nice to use and apply even with the liquid formula and even though it is like a gloss it is definitely not sticky. It is also nice over other lipstick or lip liners.

16763444_10208415441524055_1162855645_o

This is a picture of me wearing the New York shade, also this lipstick is a stain so when it starts to wear off it does stain your lips and leaves a beautiful colour but it does last ages as it is.

16763548_10208415441604057_1632621799_o

The product is around £6 and I would say that it is worth that price. I would definitely get another colour! Would love to see what you think of lip stains so let me know in the comments.

Our visit to Stockholm, Sweden!

Hey guys,

I’m so excited to do this post because I know that a lot of people have asked me since I’ve gone a tonne of questions about Stockholm and I really wanted to direct people to this page so they can get all their answers. Hope you enjoy!

First of all, my boyfriend George and I decided to visit Stockholm for his 21st birthday as we love to explore different places and it was one we wanted to tick off. The actual hotel and flights were actually pretty much cheaper than Barcelona surprisingly. We ended up deciding to go with Ryanair so it was cheap and cheerful, we paid just over £100 for both of us there and back with a 15kg case to share which is actually really good. We flew from Stanstead to Skavsta and got the bus service from Skavsta to Stockholm which was really good and easy to use as they have an app.  Then I booked a Scandic hotel, right in the centre of Stockholm. It was called “Scandic No 53” and it was on the Kungsgatan road. Here’s the link: http://www.booking.com/hotel/se/htl-kungsgatan.html Overall, it was a decent price only paying about £200 to be right in the centre of Stockholm was definitely worth it and for 2 people the trip only came to just over £300 for four days!

On the first day we decided to just have a really relaxed day because we were travelling so much. Then on the second we went up to see the Royal Palace which was so cool. George and I were pretty shocked at how close you can actually get to the Palace as we weren’t used to that being from England and there being so many guards around Buckingham.

img_0254

As you can probably tell from the pictures it was quite cold but the air was so fresh, we wrapped up warm and had an amazing time sightseeing despite the cold. Picture below is the view from the Palace of the parliament.

img_0246

Next, we went to the old town and saw all the amazing Scandinavian buildings which is what I was really looking forward to about Sweden. There are so many different types of buildings all right next to each other and it all works so well. I could’ve spend hours walking down all them roads looking at all the little shops and it was only a short walk from our Hotel.

We also went to the Museum of Medieval Stockholm which was free admission and was really interesting to learn a lot about the history of Stockholm and see a lot of cool artefacts.

The next day we went to the Vasa Museum one of the main attractions in Stockholm and I have to say it was worth it. You think that if someone tells you to spend hours looking at one boat would be weird but a 400 year old giant boat was definitely something I’ll never get to see many times in my life!

img_0278

Overall, we did a lot of cool sightseeing in this beautiful place and I definitely plan on going back to Stockholm during a different time of year (just to see it in a different perspective). The place is absolutely beautiful and although everything is a tad more expensive than it is everywhere else, it definitely is one of my favourite places I’ve visited.

Would recommend to anyone! Here are a few more pictures of our trip:

Pamper Session and review of the Sephora Pomegranate Face Mask!

Hey Guys,

So today I decided to give my skin a little pamper as after going to Stockholm my face has been in very cold weather for a while! As it has been so cold my skin was looking very dull and tired so I wanted to use this Pomegranate Mask from Sephora that my brother kindly bought me. It is a sheet mask and is only one use but it is really nice as a little treat when your skin really needs it.

First of all, I washed my face to get off any dirt which may have still been on my face. I decided to use another Christmas present which was from a lush gift set I got. I used the serendipity soap to wash my face thoroughly. It has a strong lavender scent so would be nice for calming and is also very good for cleansing the skin.

16325458_10208261294350472_1505668482_o

I then put the mask on, I decided to do this while I was in the bath just so I could relax while doing it. The mask was a sheet mask so all you need to do is unfold it, remove the film and then place it on your clean face for 15 minutes. However, I didn’t do it for that long probably about 10 if that.

16388934_10208261284950237_560740080_o

Afterwards, you’re meant to just rub in the excess product. These masks always seem to have a lot of product left on the face afterwards so I like to rub it in and then dab my face with a towel.

This is what my face looked like after just using the mask:

My skin has a nice glow to it that it didn’t have when I first woke up and it feels super soft! After this I just applied a lotion which was also a lush product from the same gift set called Sleepy. It is full of lavender scents and is super moisturising, as I didn’t want my face getting dry during the day and I don’t plan on putting make up on!

Would recommend all three of these products for a little pamper session, they definitely helped my combat my winter skin issues.

Hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading..

Product Review: The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask!

Hey Guys,

To kick off my first post of 2017 I thought I’d talk about a product I truly believe works. This would definitely have to be the Himalayan Charcoal mask which is made by The Body Shop.

First of all, the packaging is very professional. In the masks glass casing you feeling feel like it is a well present product which will work! Obviously from the pictures you will notice that mine is well used, I use this product when my skin is having a bad week and obviously through the cold English winter this is quite often.

The consistency is very natural with bits of seaweed which scrub the face nicely when you take it off, it really does get rid of all the dirt that gets into the pores. But this pot costing around £15 has seen many uses even with me applying thick layers when I feel I need it so it’s definitely worth the money.

Overall, after leaving it on to dry for 10 to 15 the removal is nice and easy with warm water and you feel the effects straight away. The skin is softer and any pores that were blocked will look much better in appearance too. The fresh scent will stay on your face for a while as well which is always nice.

I have to mention as well that I found the staff and my local store really helpful. They weren’t forceful in sales at all and had a really decent conversation which is hard to find in most beauty stores.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this review and go out and try there range of masks! I will definitely be buying this one again.

I will post more regularly too this year as I have so many new products to try!

Thanks for reading

Review: Morphe 35O Palette!

Hi Guys,

Again it’s been a while but my life is getting taken over by third year psychology!

15311361_10207806219693890_170570427_o

So today I thought I’d start my break of blog posts to come back with one of my favourite purchases ever! I am so happy that I bought this, it has been out of stock on cult beauty for ages and then I saw their instagram post and had to buy it instantly! I think it was about £22 which isn’t too bad because it has 35 completely wearable shades for all different types of looks.

15387348_10207806219053874_1523861066_o

This is one of the most pigmented palettes I’ve had and it’s a palette that if you’re travelling is perfect because you have so many different shades to make a natural or a very full on look.

15354044_10207806219653889_269813140_o

I have to say one of the perks of this palette is the foiled shadows that are ridiculously pigmented! One is on the right hand side right at the bottom which is a orange toned red and is beautiful and the other is a really light orange creamy colour. I put one on and had to take some off because I wasn’t expecting me to be pigmented and it stayed on for hours. They are perfect for autumn, winter, spring and summer in all different types of ways!

Also, the top colours on the left are absolutely perfect for inner corner highlight or even just as highlight! I also used the brown shadows for brow colour when I forgot my brow powder and they are so multi-use!

Anyways, hope that this explained all you need to know about this palette, if you want to see some looks with this palette follow me on sofablogs_ on instagram where I’ll be posting more photos over christmas!

How to go back to Uni without spending a fortune!

Hey guys,

Apologies for the lack of posting but getting ready for University has been no joke this year. It is my third year which means it’s going to be the biggest/toughest year of my life! Therefore, I got some stuff to make me feel better about it and to prepare me for the hell that is to come. I tried to do this year as cheap as possible as I didn’t want to be worrying about money while worrying about everything else so all this stuff is very affordable for what it is!

14614205_10207334888390902_684171754_o.jpg

So the first thing I want to talk about is my tablet, it is actually Tesco’s own brand called Connect and is a windows powered tablet. I got the smaller one which was on sale at only £70! I thought this was a very good price for a tablet which I have since been using in my first few weeks of uni for writing notes on and looking at lecture slides. I find it a bit slower than maybe an ipad but very good and had word, powerpoint and everything a student could need during lectures. The memory is very high and you can also put a micro SD in for more storage! If you’re interested the link for it is here.

14536736_10207334888950916_1732709362_o (1).jpg

As I bought the tablet I wanted a wireless keyboard that wasn’t expensive and was light enough to carry in my bag. So I got a slim silver one for £11 that I found on amazon which was actually on prime as well. Next day delivery is definitely no joke with amazon I swear! The link for this is here.

Next up, stationary! So because I wanted to get some cheap stuff I ended up going into good old poundland to have a look at their stuff. I was actually pleasantly surprised and got my cute little Academic Diary from there! I also got my cute pug calendar which actually goes well with my cute bedding (from tesco). I think these buys are well worth the money since the calendar came with a little board and a pen that you can jot important notes down on.

Also, my cool water cup is adorable! This ones cheating as my mom bought it for me when she went on the London eye and it’s actually made me want to drink water a lot more. I would advise anyone to get a water bottle because it saves so much money from buying bottles of water every time and you’ll need it during the long lectures.

Also you’re going to need some exercise books! I found these the most expensive things to try and find (apart from the tablet) if you want a fancy one be willing to pay £7 for two! However, I got these cute little green ones for a pound each from Tiger which do the job and are easy to put in my bag.

14585729_10207334888910915_1567857859_o

Last but not least I got some new boots from Sainsbury’s! The 25% clothing was on so I made the most of it by getting puts that were £25 for £19 and I’m sure these will get me to uni through the winter.

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you want to see more of my new uni room or want any tips about university life!
